What is Red Light Therapy

Light, delivered at the wavelengths your cells use.

Red Light Therapy (technically photobiomodulation, or PBM) delivers specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to the skin and deeper tissue. Those wavelengths are absorbed by mitochondria, the energy-producing organelles inside every cell, which respond by producing more ATP. More cellular energy means cells repair faster, inflammation drops, and downstream systems work better.

Each session runs twenty minutes in a private room. You lie on a calibrated full-body bed, eyes protected, while red and near-infrared panels deliver uniform coverage. No heat, no UV, no discomfort. You can rest, breathe, or close your eyes. Most guests describe it as meditative. The session ends; you walk out and resume your day.

What changes with Red Light Therapy is dose-dependent and additive. Consistent sessions produce the strongest signal. Most members fold it into a weekly rhythm rather than treating it as a one-time fix.

Who it's for

Four reasons people come back.

Red Light reads as gentle in the moment, but the effect is dose-dependent and compounding. The members who get the most from it use it consistently. A few patterns below.

Recovery
The trained athlete between cycles

Two to four sessions a week through training blocks. Members report less morning soreness, faster turnaround between hard efforts, and the kind of joint comfort that makes mobility work easier the next day.

Skin
The skin and visible-results member

Three to five sessions a week for a defined run, then a maintenance cadence. Collagen synthesis upticks, tone evens out, and fine lines soften over several weeks. Patience matters here; one session does very little.

Sleep & mood
The frayed nervous system

Daily or near-daily sessions, often in the morning. Members describe a steadier baseline, easier sleep onset, and a measurable drop in the low-grade anxiety that runs in the background of high-output weeks.

Joint & inflammation
The chronic-inflammation case

Three sessions a week as part of a longer joint, back, or autoimmune-adjacent protocol. The strongest reports come when Red Light is layered with PEMF and a thoughtful supplement stack reviewed with our team.

The Vytara approach

What separates clinical Red Light from a panel at home.

Red Light Therapy is one of the more crowded categories in wellness right now. Cheap consumer panels, face masks, generic spa offerings. The differences come down to dose, coverage, consistency, and clinical context. Here is what we hold ourselves to.

  1. i.

    Clinical-grade full-body bed, not a desktop panel

Our system delivers uniform red and near-infrared exposure across the entire body in a single 20-minute session. Consumer-grade panels cover a fraction of the surface area at a fraction of the irradiance. The difference shows up in how quickly results plateau or progress.

  2. ii.

Calibrated wavelengths and dosing, by protocol

Wavelength profiles and recommended cadence follow established clinical protocols. New members get a brief intake so the protocol matches what you actually need, recovery, skin, sleep, or layered into a Program.

  3. iii.

Consistency, because the effect is dose-dependent

One session feels good and does little. Three to five sessions a week for a month moves measurable markers. We design protocols around realistic cadences, not the marketing claim that one session will change your skin. Members on protocol see the strongest results.

  4. iv.

Layering with the broader therapy stack

Red Light pairs naturally with several of our other modalities: PEMF for cellular signaling, Infrared Sauna for autonomic balance, NanoVi for downstream repair signaling, IV for systemic micronutrient support. We sequence layered sessions in the order that makes physiological sense.

Evidence & safety

What red light does, and what it doesn't.

Red Light Therapy is non-invasive, drug-free, and does not use heat or UV. The published evidence for photobiomodulation is now substantial across skin renewal, musculoskeletal recovery, joint pain, hair growth, and circadian and mood applications. The mechanism (mitochondrial absorption driving ATP production) is well-characterized in the basic-science literature.

Red Light is dose-dependent and additive: the results build across consistent sessions, most of them measurable over a multi-week timeline rather than in a single visit. There are no one-session miracles.

What we screen for

Active photosensitizing medications (some antibiotics, retinoids, certain antifungals), recent cosmetic injectables in the treatment area, history of melanoma, and pregnancy. The intake takes a few minutes. If anything is borderline, let our team know before the session.

What you might feel

A gentle warmth, nothing intense. No burning, no UV exposure, no sound, no movement required from you. Most guests describe the experience as quiet and meditative. Eye protection is provided and worn throughout the session.

Who runs your session

Trained professionals run your session. Flag a specific condition, layered therapy, or photosensitivity concern before your first session and we will plan around it.

Membership fit

How Red Light Therapy works with your tier.

One credit per session. Your monthly credit allotment determines how often you can run Red Light, and how much room you have to layer it with other credit-eligible therapies.

Gold

Steady cadence

Up to 10 sessions per month

Ten credits a month. Enough for two-to-three Red Light sessions a week if you spend it all here, or fewer when you split credits with PEMF or the Infrared Sauna. A good starting tier for a single-modality protocol.

Diamond

Full-stack protocol

Unlimited sessions

Unlimited credits. Run Red Light as often as you like, with plenty of room to layer in higher-credit therapies like Hyperbaric Oxygen or Ballancer Pro. Best fit for members on defined longevity, recovery, or skin Programs.

Often paired with
PEMF for cellular signaling, Infrared Sauna for autonomic balance, NanoVi for downstream repair signaling, IV Therapy for systemic micronutrient support.
